Yesterday, when I got turned out, I decided to roll....
next to the fence. Which proceeded to attack my left hind leg. near my already exisiting scar from my weanling age.
And now, big strip of hair and blood exisit where there was only fence. And while I don't walk with a limp, 4 hrs in the stall has swollen my leg below my hock to twice normal size.
Needless to say, mom scratched me from the dressage show. She was not pleased. At all.
Dr. L says no furazene and is all ho-hum on the wonderdust. She recommends cold hose, no stall, vet wrap and neosporine type treatment. Dr. L is no fun. She also recommends bute, but I think mom wants me to suck it up.
and I still have fungus.
In other news, I am a size 76 blanket, not 70 as mom ordered. Back to stateline for an exchange, I guess.

shave and bathe
OK - actually, it was just clipping around the muzzle and that horrible horrible buzzing in the ears. I couldn't stand too much of that - I don't care if the fancy warm bloods make fun of me at the show this weekend, THAT WAS ENOUGH WITH THE CLIPPING. Mom has finally learned that as soon as the blade gets hot, I want it far far away from my ears.
And then there was the anti-fungal treatment for my back legs - my legs are so encrusted, mom didn't even realize it till she started brushing them and clumps were coming off with skin.
that was less than pleasant.
It rained all day. So at least I got out of being worked. Nancy told mom that I slept all day. I had a lot to process after the schooling this weekend. Nancy is one tough cookie.

Trying out the new beta blogger
Welcome and take a load off.
My name is Jericho (okay, so mom is typing). I'm a second level dressage horse, and mom is trying to work up to 1st level.
We'll post more as we get into the blogger beta thing. Glad you stopped by.
